Motown tribute to perform in Gatlinburg

GATLINBURG – Appearing for one night only at the Gatlinburg Convention Center, the Taste of Autumn presents the Temptations Revue featuring A Tribute by Nate Evans! Not only will you get to sample great dishes from the area’s finest restaurants, but you will also get to experience the Motown sounds of the Temptations all for one price. September 23 is the first official day of Autumn and what a better way to celebrate the season than with the legendary Temptations Revue and the Taste of Autumn. Attendees can enjoy unlimited sampling from all the participating vendors plus great music and a silent auction.

“For thirteen years, the Taste of Autumn has been a tasty way to support the United Way of Sevier County, but this year is extra special with the addition of the world famous Temptations!” commented Jon Elder, Special Events Coordinator. “Think of this as an exclusive dinner show for one night only.”

The Taste’s main entertainment attraction is a musical tribute to the Temptations starring Nate Evans, who began performing with original vocalists David Ruffin, Dennis Edwards and Eddie Kendricks.  For this  newest tribute to the Motown legends, Evans has assembled a lineup of singers that is electrifying audiences nightly with Temptations’ gold, spanning some 50 albums and 50-plus top 10 singles, like “My Girl,” “Just My Imagination,” “Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone,” and many more.  Throughout the show Evans shares not only his talents but also his memories of working with the group’s original members.

Along with the $25 ticket (children under 7 are free), attendees can also sample unlimited from some of the area’s finest restaurants and attractions. A Silent Auction will also be held.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the Taste of Autumn go to the 2010 United Way of Sevier County Campaign.

SCN interviews horror author Jeff Strand

Author Jeff Strand has been busy. His book Dweller (Leisure Books) just came out in April of this year and he has another (Wolf Hunt, Dark Regions Press) that is coming soon as a limited edition hardcover. (Editor’s note: If you order the deluxe edition, you also get a neat wolfman sculpture created by Frank Walls.) Add to this the fact that he also gets to emcee the 2011 Bram Stoker awards (highly-coveted horror writing awards) in New York and you’ve got a schedule that likely makes it hard to sleep at night sometimes.
