WSCC honors three with prof emeritus title

MORRISTOWN – Walters State Community College bestowed one of its highest honors on three retired professors today.  Dr. Anne C. Armstrong, Dr. Judith Hector and Dr. Samuel R. O’Dell each received the title of Professor Emeritus.

Lady Senators drop one to Lady Eagles

DUNWOODY, Ga. – The fifth-ranked Walters State Lady Senators saw their 46-game regular season winning streak come to an end Saturday afternoon at the hands of the Tallahassee (Fla.) Lady Eagles in a thrilling 66-65 decision in the Lady Jaguar Thanksgiving Classic played at Georgia Perimeter College.

WSCC Senators lose first game of season

PANAMA CITY, Fla. – The 23rd-ranked Walters State Senators were overwhelmed from the opening tip Saturday afternoon, dropping an 80-56 decision to the South Georgia Tech Jets in the Gulf Coast Admiral Thanksgiving Classic played at Gulf Coast Community College.

New laws apply to credit card companies

SEVIER COUNTY, TN – According to Dr. Dena Wise, UT Extension Specialist, consumers planning to use credit cards for holiday purchases should be careful. Some credit card companies may be charging additional interest and fees over the holidays. These additional charges take advantage of the final few months before the new federal regulations on credit cards go into effect at the end of February, 2010.

Don Richmond performs free concert Dec 6

PIGEON FORGE, TN - Internationally known recording artist Donny Richmond, who makes his home in Pigeon Forge, will perform a Free Christmas Concert at Henderson Chapel Baptist Church, Pigeon Forge, on Sunday, Dec. 6. Richmond, who since 2006 has enjoyed #1 chart successes in more than 10 countries, has again reached #1 on the Charts in Europe, this time with his new Christmas release. The song; “That’s What Christmas Means”, was written by Donny with Nashville associates David Walker and Randy Smith. In it’s first week of release Nov. 6, the song went directly to the top spot being chosen by radio programmers throughout Europe as the top new Christmas single for 2009. Donny will perform this and a collection of Christmas favorites at the Concert.
