Salvation Army fundraiser is April 21

KNOXVILLE – The Salvation Army announced today that the Gathering of Angels will take place on Wednesday, April 21 at noon at the Knoxville Expo Center on Clinton Highway.  The Gathering of Angels is The Salvation Army’s annual fundraising event and one of the Army’s three main sources of operating funds.

TN Arts Commission: quarterly meeting

NASHVILLE – - The Tennessee Arts Commission will hold its next quarterly meeting in Nashville on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. (CST) at the Commission office, located at 401 Charlotte Avenue.

Baby Face contest March 6-7 benefits hospital

PIGEON FORGE – On March 6 and 7, photographs will be taken for entry to the 20th Annual “Cutest Little Baby Face Contest” at Belz Outlets in Pigeon Forge to benefit East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.  Photographs will be taken on Saturday, March 6 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and on Sunday, March 7 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

WSCC softball team splits four with Georgia

DUNWOODY, Ga. — The Walters State Lady Senators softball team walked away from the Georgia Perimeter Spring Invitational tournament with a 2-2 record over the weekend having split doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday.

Ice Bears first runner up to Columbus

KNOXVILLE – The Knoxville Ice Bears came ready to play after winning back-to-back games on the road, ending a four-game losing streak, but the Columbus Cottonmouths had a 3-goal run in the third to give the Ice Bears their third straight loss at home.  Columbus defeats Knoxville with a score of 3-2.
