Senators stroll past Dyersburg State

MORRISTOWN, Tenn. – The Walters State men’s basketball team ran their season record to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in TCCAA play Saturday afternoon with a sound thrashing of Dyersburg State, 111-71-, at ‘Z’ Buda Gymnasium.

Freshman Dominique Taylor tallied a season-best 15 points, including hitting 4 of 5 from 3-point range. Sophomore guard Trey Payne also had 15 points, freshman guard Addison Flynn added a dozen points while freshman guard Desmond Crisp scored 10. All 16 players that dressed and played for the Senators dented the scoring column.

 

Walters State went 36 of 68 from the floor, including 9 of 14 from 3-point range, for 52.9 percent while 30 of 36 attempts from the charity stripe.

 

Jarvis Finley and Dekevius Curtis each netted 12 points for Dyersburg State while Marlin Dotson had 11.

 

The Senators return to action Monday, Nov. 23 with a game at Union (Ky.) College. Scheduled start time is 7 p.m.
